Bleeding is the first sign of inflammation. If left untreated, it can progress to periodontitis and tooth loss. A periodontal evaluation determines whether the condition is limited to gum inflammation or whether the disease has progressed.
Its progression can be stopped. Cleaning the roots beneath the gums and laser therapy eliminate the infection, allowing the gums to reattach to the tooth. Because it is a chronic condition, regular follow-up visits are necessary after treatment.
The laser is minimally invasive and, in many cases, reduces the need for anesthesia. The doctor will explain the procedure to you beforehand.
Not necessarily. Through thorough cleaning and, if necessary, temporary stabilization of the teeth, many loose teeth can be stabilized and preserved.
There is a genetic predisposition, but the main cause is bacterial plaque. If there have been such cases in your family, we recommend more frequent checkups and cleanings.
After treatment, the gums go down and become healthy, but the portion that has already receded does not grow back on its own. In some cases, further intervention may be necessary through cosmetic gum procedures.
