Indications
When Are Veneers Recommended?
Veneers cover only the visible part of the tooth. During your appointment, the dentist will determine whether they are right for you or if the tooth requires a different treatment.
Veneers are suitable for
- stained teeth that do not lighten with whitening;
- chipped teeth, teeth with small cracks, or irregularly shaped teeth;
- gapped teeth or slightly crowded teeth;
- small or worn-down teeth, which make the smile appear short.
We recommend a different treatment when
- the tooth is largely damaged: an all-ceramic crown provides better protection;
- if there are cavities or inflamed gums: these are treated first;
- If your teeth are very crowded, braces or clear aligners may be the first step.

How the treatment works
You'll know right from the start what your future smile will look like and how much the treatment will cost. The number of visits is determined during the consultation, depending on how many veneers are needed.

Consultation and Photos
The dentist examines your teeth and gums, takes photos, and discusses with you what you'd like to change: the color, shape, or length of your teeth.

Design
Smile Simulation
The new smile is digitally designed and then simulated on the teeth using a temporary resin model (mock-up). The shape is adjusted in consultation with the dentist before the teeth are prepared.

Preparation
Tooth Preparation and Impression
The teeth are ground down very slightly, just enough to accommodate the thickness of the veneer. The impression is sent to the lab, where the veneers are made.

Last visit
Bonding the veneers
Veneers are bonded to the teeth using a special adhesive. The dentist checks your bite, the color, and the shape, and explains how to care for them.

Questions and Answers About Dental Veneers
If the tooth is largely damaged, the dentist may recommend an all-ceramic crown. It completely covers the tooth and protects it better than a veneer.
No. Porcelain does not change color when exposed to bleaching agents. For this reason, we recommend whitening the adjacent natural teeth before applying the veneers, so that the shades match.
During the first few days, there is a short adjustment period. After that, the veneers feel just like your own teeth, because they are very thin and made from an impression of your teeth.
The color is chosen together with your dentist, using a color chart. You can choose a natural white or a lighter shade, depending on your preference and the color of your neighboring teeth.
There are no strict restrictions. However, we recommend that you avoid biting directly into very hard foods, such as hard apples, raw carrots, or pistachios, and that you do not use your teeth to open lids or packaging. Coffee and red wine do not stain porcelain.
